Dr. Chuansheng Zheng, M.D., is Director of the Department of Imaging Medicine at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Director of the Departments of Radiology and Interventional Radiology at Wuhan Union Hospital. He is a Huazhong Distinguished Scholar and Distinguished Professor. Dr. Zheng also holds several national academic leadership positions, including Vice President of the Interventional Physicians Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, member of the Chinese Society of Radiology and Chair of its Interventional Radiology Group, and Deputy Chair of the Interventional Medicine Branch of the Chinese Research Hospital Association. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Clinical Radiology and the Journal of Interventional Radiology. As Chief Scientist of a National Key Research and Development Program and a core member of a Ministry of Science and Technology Innovation Team, Dr. Zheng has led more than 20 research projects, published over 400 papers, obtained more than 30 national patents, and edited or co-edited 10 national textbooks and academic monographs. His major honors include the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the China Innovation and Invention Award, the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, the Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, the Society of Interventional Radiology Distinguished Research Award, the “People’s Famous Doctor – Outstanding Achievement Award,” and the Baogang Excellent Teacher Award.
