I am Dr. Gauri Mukhiya from the Department of Radio-diagnosis and Imaging at B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, Nepal (BPKIHS), where I have been providing diagnostic and therapeutic services for the past 4 years. This includes CT-guided lung biopsy, bone biopsy and Ultrasound-guided procedures such as PTBD, cholecystostomy, PCN, PICC-line, TRUS- guided 12 core prostate biopsy/aspiration, pigtail drainage catheter Placement, ascites and pleural centesis catheter placement, renal biopsy, liver biopsy, lung biopsy and other biopsies. I hold the position of assistant professor in the same department. My academic journey includes; completing my MBBS from Dali Medical University in China, MD in Radio-diagnosis and Medical Imaging from Anhui Medical University in China, and a PhD in Interventional Radiology, specializing in vascular intervention (a 4 year course after MD) from Zhengzhou University in China. To the best of my knowledge, I am the first PhD holder in Interventional radiology (specializing in vascular Intervention) in Nepal. My aspiration is to pursue a career in a government medical academic institution where I can engage in teaching, research, and clinical practice. My ultimate aim is to become a proficient interventional radiologist.
