Dr. Pua Uei completed his medical training at the National University of Singapore and subsequently underwent postgraduate training in Diagnostic Radiology in Singapore. He obtained the Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) and Master of Medicine (Diagnostic Radiology), and was admitted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS).
He pursued advanced subspecialty training in Interventional Radiology through international fellowships at the University Health Network and Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Canada, as well as a visiting fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He currently serves as Senior Consultant and Head of the Interventional Radiology Service at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore.
An accomplished academic and educator, Dr. Pua has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and delivered over 300 invited lectures in more than 20 countries. Dr. Pua has held several leadership roles in professional societies. He served as President of the Singapore Radiological Society (2012-2016) and as the inaugural Chair of the Chapter of Interventional Radiologists at the Academy of Medicine, Singapore from (2021-2025). He is also a Founding and Board Member of the Society of Interventional Oncology (2018–2024) and currently serves as a Board Member of the CLI Global Society.
In recognition of his contributions, Dr. Pua is a Fellow of several societies, including the Society of Interventional Radiology (FSIR), the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (FCIRSE), the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI), and the American College of Cardiology (FACC).
