Dr Praveen Peddu is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist at King’s College Hospital, London, a leading tertiary hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) and transplant centre. He specialises in interventional oncology and advanced image-guided therapies, with a particular focus on liver and pancreatic malignancies.
Dr Peddu has been at the forefront of developing and advancing irreversible electroporation (IRE) in both liver and pancreatic tumours, including its application in challenging anatomical locations and its integration into multimodality cancer care. He established the IRE programme at King’s in 2014 and has since contributed significantly to clinical research, training, and international dissemination of this technique. King’s is now recognised as a key centre for IRE training and innovation.
His broader clinical practice includes a wide range of complex oncological and transplant interventions, including microwave ablation, radioembolisation (Y-90), TACE, TIPSS, and advanced vascular and biliary interventions. He has also played a key role in introducing novel technologies, including robotic-assisted ablation platforms.
Dr Peddu is an active researcher and educator, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and invited lectures at major international meetings. He serves as Chair of Interventional Oncology UK (IOUK) and is actively involved in shaping the role of interventional oncology within modern cancer pathways.
At the Asia-Pacific Interventional Oncology meeting, Dr Peddu will be speaking on the role of irreversible electroporation in liver and pancreatic tumours, focusing on patient selection, technical considerations, and evolving clinical evidence.
