Dr. Pooja Sai Muddana is an EBIR-certified Interventional Radiology Senior Resident currently pursuing subspecialty DM training in Cardiovascular Imaging and Vascular Interventional Radiology at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Thiruvananthapuram — one of India's foremost tertiary referral and research institutions. Her training trajectory reflects a deliberate and focused commitment to building expertise across the full clinical spectrum of modern IR practice. Dr. Muddana completed her undergraduate medical training (MBBS) and postgraduate residency (MD Radiodiagnosis) at JIPMER, Puducherry, an institution of national importance renowned for its academic rigour and high clinical volumes. Her procedural experience at SCTIMST spans the breadth of contemporary IR practice. In the domain of aortic and peripheral vascular interventions, venous interventions, hepatobiliary IR and interventional oncology. Her international conference presence includes a poster at CIRSE 2025 (Barcelona), an educational exhibit at ARRS 2023 (Honolulu), and presentations at the KCR 2023 (Seoul). At the national level, she has delivered multiple oral paper presentations at ISVIR Annual Conferences, winning 2nd Prize in the Arterial Interventions category at ISVIR 2025 for her work on long-term outcomes of transluminal angioplasty in pediatric renovascular hypertension. Dr. Muddana served as a Council Member of the ISVIR Junior Wing (2025–26), where she organizesd hands-on workshops on TIPS and carotid interventions and conducted weekly faculty webinars. She also serves as General Secretary of the Resident Doctors Association at SCTIMST. She holds memberships with ISVIR, CIRSE, SIR, ESR, IACI, IRIA, and RCR. With an active research agenda encompassing outcomes in aortic endovascular interventions, interventional oncology, and vascular IR, Dr. Muddana is committed to advancing evidence-based practice and contributing to the academic growth of interventional radiology within the Asia-Pacific region.
