Dr. Pi-Yi Chang is Director of Interventional Radiology at Taichung Veterans General Hospital, Taiwan, and President of the Taiwan Society of Interventional Radiology (TSIR). She also serves as a board member of the Taiwan Radiological Society. Her clinical and academic work focuses on interventional oncology, advanced imaging, and precision image-guided therapies, particularly in the management of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Dr. Chang received her medical degree from China Medical University and obtained her PhD in Health Administration from Tunghai University. Her doctoral research focused on optimizing transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) strategies and improving treatment outcomes in liver cancer.
Her clinical expertise includes conventional TACE, drug-eluting bead TACE, radioembolization (Y-90), hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy, and complex image-guided interventions. She has a particular interest in integrating advanced imaging technologies, including CT, MRI, and cone-beam CT, into interventional oncology to improve procedural precision and treatment assessment.
Dr. Chang regularly serves as invited faculty at leading international interventional radiology conferences. Her academic interests include personalized interventional oncology, complication management, artificial intelligence applications in interventional radiology, and imaging-to-intervention workflow optimization.
As President of TSIR, she actively promotes international collaboration, supports the education and mentorship of young interventional radiologists, and works to enhance the global visibility of Taiwan’s interventional radiology community. Her professional mission is to advance minimally invasive cancer therapies through innovation, education, and multidisciplinary collaboration to improve patient outcomes.
