Dr. Mitesh Gupta, MBBS, DNB (Radiodiagnosis), is an accomplished Interventional Radiologist with expertise in neurointervention, vascular embolization, and minimally invasive image-guided therapies. He combines extensive procedural experience with a research-oriented clinical approach, focusing on innovation in endovascular treatment and evidence-based patient care.
He completed his DNB in Radiodiagnosis from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, and earned his MBBS degree from Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences, Gangtok. Over the years, Dr. Gupta has developed advanced skills in the management of complex neurovascular and peripheral vascular conditions through minimally invasive techniques.
His core areas of expertise include flow diverter placement for broad-neck and complex intracranial aneurysms, endovascular aneurysm coiling, and embolization of arteriovenous malformations and fistulas. He is also experienced in acute ischemic stroke intervention, including mechanical thrombectomy procedures aimed at rapid vessel recanalization and neurological recovery. In addition, he performs gastrointestinal bleed embolization, peripheral vascular embolization, venous interventions, ultrasound-guided biopsies, and image-guided vascular access procedures.
Dr. Gupta is actively involved in academic and professional organizations and regularly participates in national and international scientific meetings. He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE), the Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (ISVIR), and the European Society of Neuroradiology (ESNR) with a focus on spinal radiology.
His research interests include flow diverter technology, optimization of outcomes in intracranial aneurysm treatment, comparative efficacy of embolic agents, and clinical outcome analysis in image-guided therapies. He has contributed to peer-reviewed medical literature, including the publication “Material Matters: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of the Efficacy of Different Embolic Agents in Middle Meningeal Artery Embolization” published in the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology in 2025. He has also presented scientific papers and e-posters at CIRSE 2025, as well as oral presentations at national IRIA conferences.
Dr. Gupta has pursued advanced academic training through specialized courses and continuing medical education programs, including the ESNR Spinal Radiology Course in Rome in 2019. His continued dedication to research, innovation, and advanced patient care reflects his commitment to the evolving field of interventional radiology and neurovascular therapy.
