Dr. Jae-Kyu Kim is an Emeritus Professor at Chonnam National University in Gwangju, Korea. He completed residency training at Chonnam University Hospital and further advanced his expertise through multiple visiting fellowships and research positions at internationally renowned institutions, including the University of California San Diego (UCSD), MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Miami Vascular Institute, the University of Minnesota, and Louisiana State University Medical School. His distinguished professional career spans over three decades at Chonnam National University, where he served as Professor in the Department of Radiology, Chief of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology, Chairman of the Department of Radiology, and Vice-Dean of the Medical School. Dr. Kim has held prominent leadership roles, including President of the Korean Society of Interventional Radiology (KSIR) and founder of the Grand Interventional Radiology Symposium (GIRLS). He is also an active reviewer for several international journals, including CVIR, Investigative Radiology, and JVIR. His professional interests and expertise are concentrated in interventional radiology, encompassing vascular and non-vascular interventions, interventional oncology, and mechanical thrombectomy.
