Jianqi Sun is a Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at the School of Biomedical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), where he also serves as Deputy Dean of the Med-X Research Institute. He holds several prominent academic and professional positions, including Standing Council Member of the 9th Board of Directors of the Shanghai Anti-Cancer Association, Vice Chair of the Interventional Medicine Committee and the Medical Device Group Standard Technical Committee of the Shanghai Society of Biomedical Engineering, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Med-X Engineering Research Center for Physical Therapy and Detection Equipment for Major Diseases, Council Member of the SJTU Medical Device Industry Alumni Association, and Chair of the Youth Editorial Board of the Chinese Journal of Medical Instruments.
With a sustained focus on the research, development, and commercialization of high-end medical equipment—particularly multimodal tumor therapy systems and intelligent biomedical imaging technologies—Professor Sun has led numerous major research initiatives. These include projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), such as the Youth Program, General Program, and Joint Fund for Large Scientific Facilities, as well as key projects under the National Key R&D Program “Research and Development of Digital Diagnostic and Therapeutic Equipment.” He has authored over 60 research papers in journals such as Medical Image Analysis and holds 15 granted patents. His contributions have been recognized with several awards, including the Second Prize of the Natural Science Award from the Ministry of Education, the First Prize of the Shanghai Anti-Cancer Association, and the Shanghai Xuhui District Guangqi Talent Program (Youth Project).
