Dr. P.L. Pereira, MD, PhD, EBIR, EBIR-ES, FCIRSE, FESGAR, EBIR-IO, trained in radiology at the University of Lille while completing a post-doc in macromolecular biochemistry. He moved to Germany in 1990, became a staff radiologist in 1994, and later developed a leading MR-guided intervention program in Tübingen, where he was appointed Professor of Radiology in 2001 and Deputy Chairman in 2004. From 2008 to 2024, he directed the Center of Radiology, Minimally-invasive Therapies, and Nuclear Medicine at SLK-Clinics Heilbronn, and in 2025 became Advisor to the Cancer Center and Management of SLK Clinics gGmbH. He has published over 350 peer-reviewed papers, contributed to more than 40 books, and in September 2024 became President of CIRSE.
