Maofeng Gong, MD, PhD, is an interventional radiologist and physician-scientist recognized as an Institutional Young Talent and an Emerging Talent in Venous Intervention in China. He previously served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Dotter Interventional Institute in the United States and completed visiting clinical training at Hoag Hospital and Mission Hospital. His clinical and research work focuses on interventional diagnosis, treatment, and translational research in peripheral vascular diseases and oncologic diseases, with particular expertise in venous thromboembolism, lower-extremity arterial disease, and personalized tumor therapy. He has published more than 40 SCI-indexed articles as first or corresponding author in journals including European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Liver International, Seminars in Thrombosis and Hemostasis, Academic Radiology, European Journal of Radiology, JVIR, CVIR, Journal of Vascular Surgery: Venous and Lymphatic Disorders, iScience, British Journal of Radiology, and Journal of Endovascular Therapy. His work has received over 260 citations, with an H-index of 10. He has led five provincial and municipal research projects, received four provincial and municipal awards for new medical technologies, and his research findings have been cited by the 2026 AHA/ACC/ACCP/ACEP/CHEST/SCAI/SHM/SIR/SVM/SVN guideline on acute pulmonary embolism.
